Arisaema flavum multiplying like crazy....

Paul,

The plants I've had in pots that made pups quit flowering the next year
even though I
re-potted them and moved the pups to separate pots.

The plants in the ground do grow bigger and flower year after year with a
few pups
every so often. Left alone, they eventually send off a load of pups and
are smaller
with fewer blooms until the pups are moved away from the mother plants.

All this is not a properly documented study, just an observation of A.
triphyllum
and A. taiwanense. I have not noticed offshoot production in most of the
other
species, but others have.

A. flavum doesn't last long enough here to see pups produced. The hot
humid summers
and wet winters do it in quickly.
