Seeds (?) soaked 3 days with frequent water changes were put on a moist
paper towel. This was folded up and put in a plastic baggie. Will check o=n
Monday.
It took triphyllum seed collected by a co-worker at South Mountain
Reservation here in South Orange, New Jersey in October a month to start
germinating after this treatment. She now has forests in two flats,
courtesy of yours truly. Half still have yet to go, and the rate of new
"poppers" is slowing. (Its her job to unfold all, check, plant, and
remoisten and seal now!) Same time seeds of my plant of triphyllum I call
'Big Mama' are just starting in their towels. Everything about this plant
is much larger than other trip.'s I have come across, including the seeds=,
but they just take longer. Seeds from a form I call albescens - approachi=ng
alba - light apple green and off-white, are in the middle, about 20%. Of
course the wild plants had different, more scrappy conditions than my
cultivated plants.
