Subject: Re: Some plants coming up
Jim,
I'm surprised that A. ringens is not up if the A. triphyllum are up. A.
ringens is usually one
of the first to appear and is often turned to mush by a late frost.
Here in North Carolina, A. ringens has bloomed, suffered frost damage,
has recovered and
is growing like crazy. A. triphyllum has just peaked through the leaves.
A. nepenthoides has bloomed grown and gone dormant already. A. engleri is
in full bloom.
There's also an A. ringens that's just arisen in the last week. It has a
much narrower leaf
than the other A. ringens growing here. The inflorescence looks
reasonably like ringens, but
I'm wondering if this isn't something else. I came from Craig Stubbs in
April of 1994 as a tuber.
What say you Craig? Do we have a variety here? It's not the A. ringens v.
albiflorus which you sent
in 1999.
