Face Front - not

Hi Susan: A. sikokianum here does exactly what Ray observed,
namely >... facing away from any viewing point....< I have a fair
number of photographs showing four to six blooming plants with no two
orienting in same direction but consistent in facing away from the
path.
On the other hand, there are two plants of A. tortuosum, one
monumental in stature and the other half the size and sited maybe six
inches to the front and and slightly to the side, that consistently
flower with one facing due right and the other, 180 degrees to the
left. The direction of orientation for these two has been stable
and opposite for the past five years. In profile, they look great.
Win some; lose some.
