I suspect that deer will try anything. The tops of some of my very healthy A.
tryphyllum were nibbled off last year, altho I didn't see the varmits that did
it. And I know that the deer harvested some vegetation from my hybrid mountain
laurel last year, and that stuff is supposed to be poisonous. Never tell a
deer what he should and shouldn't eat. He'll prove you don't know what you are
talking about.
