MJ,

Without a cold cycle, the A. triphyllum are out of phase and will
probably stay dormant until next
spring.

With the cold cycle, they will start to grow again in early August and
may not have time to
complete the growth cycle. They'll still be out of phase until next
spring and you may have to shelter
them while they complete their growth.

So, on the one hand you have nothing to do but return to normal next
spring. On the other hand,
you have to give them the cold treatment and
you may have give some protection in the late fall,
but you gain a years growth going into next spring.

The choice depends on how important an extra years growth is.
