Jim,
Yes. I have 7 pups on the A. taiwanense that grew from John Gwynne's '93
seed #277. These were fully
detached and had no roots or signs of growth but are nearly 3/4" in size.
In addition, there were 3 more
pups still attached with no shoot growth either. By the color and size of
the detached offsets, I'd guess they've been there at least one season.
I can't be sure, but I think I've seen this on A. triphyllum as well.
