Jerry,
Great news - you're in cyberspace. You should get confirmation from the
Arisaema
discussion list shortly and begin receiving the messages.
On tropical Arisaema, we don't know very much about them actually. The
only people I know
to be growing them are Wilbert Hetterscheid <hetter at vkc.nl> (greenhouse),
and Shing Lam
<shlam at hkueee.hku.hk> in Hong Kong. By copy of this message, I'll ask
them to post
some answers to your questions on Arisaema-L.

Jerry's questions:
>Tropical species of Arisaema might be a better choice for my climate?
Do the tropical species have a dormant period.
Do you know of any sources for Arisaema species that will do well in zone
9?
A friend, Eric Schmidt, is a horticulturist at Harry P. Leu Gardens in
Orlando. He is also interested in trying differnt species. There are
definately good growing conditions at Leu and they have cooler temps
there as well.<
