If the arisaemas don't show signs of growth from the 1 cm. "nose", they a=re
probably still dormant and can be kept in the refrigerator for a month or=so.
I use slightly damp (not wet) potting soil (promix) in a plastic"baggie",
folded, not sealed tight. You can inspect them every week or so, and if t=hey
appear to start sprouting, pot them up in the same mix (I mix in some tur=face,
but that probably isn't critical) and put them under lights once some gre=en
shows. The most important thing at this stage is to keep them fairly dry =until
the leaves emerge. They can be easily planted out once the danger of fros=t is
past.

As I'm discovering more and more the past few days, early emerging arisae=mas
are very sensitive to freezing. Despite trying to cover the ones that wer=e
poking up, I just finished an inspection of the garden, and quite a few h=ave
been zapped. Styrofoam boxes seem to offer the best protection. Our low t=emp
this week was 21F, which is the lowest that we've had all winter. An exam=ple
of bad timing!
