Subject: Re: Pinellia - How many?

Jim,

I'm growing P. atropurpurea, P. cordata, P. pedatisecta, P. ternata, and
P. tripartita here in North Raleigh.
All seem to florish except P. pedatisecta, and P. cordata. The cordata
came from three sources in three different years and one has failed to
winter over each year except the two from Kaichen which did not arise
yet. I took a look at the tubers and they look fine, but no action.

Does your P. peltatum have a spadix contained in the spathe or does it
poke out like the other pinellias?

Ray
