Subject: Re: AEG Donations
Liz,
We've had the discussion on voluntary donations vs a fixed fee several
times before. The donations not only fund the Seedex but the cost of
publications which are free except for postage, the cost of new members,
etc.
Craig and I find the current voluntary system very easy. Except for the
very first year, we've never been in the red.
One more thing about voluntary is that students and members between jobs
might find $10 to be too much, while many members consider the AEG Seedex
superior to the NARGS seedex and can afford to fund us beyond the $20
that NARGS charges. This way, each member can decide what is right for
them. For those of you that think a fixed fee of $10 is right, we'll be
happy to receive it. Let's just not force it on everyone.
Ray
