migration of listserv

Below a message from Surfnet that I just received (see my note at the end):

Next weekend (i.e. November 28/29/30) the SURFnet Listserv-server, known
as hearn.nic.surfnet.nl, will be migrated to a new system known under the
name listserv.surfnet.nl.

As a result of this operation, it is not possible to send mail to the
SURFnet Listserv distribution lists, starting Friday, November 28 at
16.00 (local time) until Monday, December 1, 08.00 (local time) at the
latest. In addition, the list archives can not be consulted during this
period.

Mail for the Listserv distribution lists received during this period will
be stored temporarily and will be forwarded to the Listserv lists as soon
as the above operation has been finalised (Monday December 1, at the
latest). The list archives will not be accessible anymore via goher, but
via WWW instead.
The WWW-archives will be available from December 1 1997 onwards at the
following URL:

http://listserv.surfnet.nl/archieven/index.html

Please note that access to these archives is limited to end-users of
SURFnet-connected organisations.

The current and the new Listserv system have in principle the same
functionality, which means that you will be able to use Listserv again
as usual, starting Monday December 1. The name of the list
(listname at nic.surfnet.nl) will remain unchanged.
