The hidden tuber.

We've often talked about Arisaema that didn't show any foliage for a year
but was still alive. I found four examples in cleaning out my nursery.
Two A. tortuosum v. helleborifolium were lurking in their pots. Tubers
were between 1.3 and 1.5 cm., look great, only a wisp of root, nice point
where the stem will eventually arise. It was from seed planted 3-95 so
is over 2 years old.
There is one A. nepenthoides also planted on 3-95. It's tuber is 2.1 cm
and looks fine like the above.
Also there is one A. triphyllum 'Viride' planted 2-95. The tuber is about
1 cm and has lots of roots plus it made 3 offsets, but no leaves.
There are examples of each batch that have grown normally at the same
location. You figure?
