Refrigerator time

Some of the arisaemas simply don't need cold dormancy; for example,
both jacquemontii and erubescens/consanguineum seem to regrow after
a few months' rest, regardless of whether it's hot or cold. Some
erubescens/con. that I started from seed last winter (so which would have
been dormant by early summer) began growing
vigorously towards the end of the summer (outdoors) and continued growing
for about 4 more months indoors. On the other hand, last year I stuck some
baby siks into the fridge after their first growth cycle, took them out after
2 months (that was in June or July) and they did absolutely nothing
until some time in November or so (after I had emptied the community pots
and repotted them all). When they did come up, they were just fine - in
fact, they're huge. So. I'm inclined to view it as Carlo does, which is
to let them rest when they will and come up when they will, without too
much intervention. I assume that once they're planted outside, they'll
get themselves onto a regular schedule (or die). One of the two.

Tangentially: those of us who are on both this list and Alpine-L cannot
fail to be amused by the contrasting approaches to germination (or
growing) on the two. The consensus among experienced rock gardeners
seems to be, pretty much, "let it be....."; and on Arisaema-L, the approach
is interventionist in the extreme. Just noticing - nothing more. :-)
