Can you put a name to the smallish Trillium's (the whole three leaftop
would be about the size of your splayed hand, if a tad bigger, stems; 25
cm, or so) that my brother picked up in a ditch, beside some old farmland?
The blooms were a maroon-red and no more than 6 cm wide.
My brother says that they are _native_ to southern New Brunswick, Canada: I
think _not_. I think that they are remnants of an old country garden,
especially because of some of the plants that are growing around the area
that _must_ have been introduced. The white "Wake Robin" is the Trillium
that has most been associated with our woodlands.
Any help will be appreciated; and I stand to be corrected.
Kind Regards,
Rand
