franchetianum-multi stemmed

Some of the franchetianum seeds received in the last distribution (already sprouted)
produced 2 or 3 stems. As I cleaned the dormant tubers prior to refrigerating them, one
of the tubers has 2 points on it--side by side in the center--and another has 3
points--divide the tuber into 4 quarters and there's a point in each quarter of 3
quarters.

Is this an indication that the tubers, still so young, are planning to divide? The 3
larger tubers are about 1/2" in diameter. Has anyone else noticed the extra points on
young tubers? They look like they should each produce a separate stem when ready to
grow again.
