Two A. speciosums have made it through another winter here in balmy
upstate NY - interesting, because only one made it above-ground last year.
The other I accidentally dug up as it was starting growth, and it
apparently retreated into dormancy again.
Neither has flowers, but just the fact that they're there is interesting
enough.
One of three young A. ringens planted out last fall has also come up (with
an attempted flower, even - not wholly successful); perhaps the other two
will follow with leaves only? No sign yet of the 3 tortuosums I planted
at the same time.
