I wanted to report in about the seeds I received from the
AEG group and also from NARGS. Even though sowing was
delayed by more than three months to the beginning of May
I've had almost 100% germination of (in order of appearance)
A. consanguineum (Herold and one day later Avent), flavum sp flavum
Herold, A. sp., A. tortuosum, A. dracontium, candididissumum (513).
Next week, A. amurense, A. triphyllum viride green, consanguineum,,
brown triphyllum tortuosum, ciliatum, franchetianum, yunnamense,
takedai, taiwanense and bookii appeared.
A. elephas, A. dracontium, ringens and angustatum have not shown up as yet.
A. griffithii from NARGS has not germinated from 6 from B&T seed that
didn't arrive until mid-May are already up as is also a tuber from
Heronswood of A. aff griffithii. (What on earth does that mean? As a
nonbotanist I get very confused with some of these terms.) It is very
strange, had three leaves, one of them died back, another is in the
process of dying back, but the third is still waving strongly in the
breeze.
A big thanks to Ray for assuring me that I could leave these seeds
in the fridge until my molybdenum-plastic knee was up and walking.
