Jim,
I think that it is only an odd behavior, nothing more. I also observed that
on 1 (over 100 maybe) specimen of A. serratum in my garden. I took a photo
of its monoecious spadix. But this is well known, J. Murata studied such a
behaviour in one of his papers.
To my knowledge, A. iyoanum usually shares the paradioecious habit of its
brothers.
