I think you're right about the long cold wet spring. That, coupled with the
wet fall before the big freeze did in a couple of species of Pinellia (also
from Ellen--bloomed beautifully last year but no seed--and I was warned they
could be weedy!)  here along with an assortment of tuberous woodlanders of
other persuasions.
