Jim,
I remember now a batch of A. sikokianum seedlings that turned pale
yellowish-white and died. I
have been using Osmocote for a long time so I didn't correlate the
happening. I also think Rose Ann
got generous and used some liquid fertilizer on them while doing
houseplants.
Right now I have a batch of A. sikokianum that had a years growth on
them. Then they got 2 months
in the frig. (Aug - ct). Then planted out until it got too cold and now
growing inside.
They have osmocote and look great. I'll get them to go dormant mid
January for another
2 month cold treatment, then plant them out in April.
I believe the one batch of A. sikokianum is the only time I could blame
osmocote for a problem,
but even that isn't certain.
