Dear All-

I too have had the unfortunate experience of having tubers/plants
destoyed by fertilizer. I am not sure what causes the demise. I used an
organic fertilizer when growth was just startng on sone adult tubers and
they quickly rotted (in about two weeks) even though the concentration
was very low. I at first thought that the organic fertilizer encouraged
the rotting. From observing some other plants I think that for some
reason Arisaemas ( and callas) are very sensitive to ferlilizers when
the new growth is emerging. The plants do not seem to mind organic
fertilizers or slow release fertilizers once the adult plants have
leafed out provided they are applied in very weak concentrations.

Sincerely
Marc
