Carl,
Your mention of an ancient book on Canadian wildflowers interests me.  When
we did our work on double flowered trilliums, Janet and I were able to look
at Michaux's book of 1805 (I think) and Salisbury's "Paridesus Londensis" of
about the same age.  Is yours either of these or is there an older
reference?
