WE have the same problem here in New York State. Anything north
of Westchester County is defined by Big Applers as "Upstate".
It is a political term rather than geographical since it covers
more than 90 % of the state. So Upstate can be anywhere from
Buffalo in western New York to Syracuse in Central New York,
Albany in the Capital district, the Catskills, the Hudson
Valley, the Adirondacks, the North country, the Finger Lakes
and the Southern Tier (which includes Painted Post) and which
abuts the Northern Tier of Pennslyvania.
