I have built a new appimage (ipe-0-Build31.1.glibc2.14-x86_64.AppImage) that includes glib - can you try that one?

The problem seems to be that the glibc on the system on which the appimage is compiled is newer than yours, and libatk seems to use something that your glibc doesn't provide. Alternatively, I could try to remove libatk from the appimage.

The best solution is to upgrade to a newer Linux release. Ubuntu 14.04 is nearly five years old!

Cheers,
  Otfried
