[Ipe-discuss] IPE 7 Crashes on JPEG

You use JPEG to store a black-and-white image? You know that in PNG
the image is only 1/4 the size of the JPEG file?
The crash is inside some Windows function call, and apparently it's
related to the fact that it's a grayscale JPEG. I guess I need to
figure out what the problem is at some point, but really, there is a
better way to achieve what you want:
- open the JPEG, say with the Window 10 Photo Viewer;
- right-click, and select "Copy" in the photo viewer;
- in Ipe, use Ctrl+V to paste the bitmap.
This will store the image in Ipe not as a JPEG, but as a compressed
bitmap - which is actually smaller for this kind of image. (Saving the
PDF with this figure inside is only 134kB, versus 228kB for the JPEG
image alone.)
Cheers,
Otfried
