[Ipe-discuss] IPE/Qt installation question

hello. i hope i'm raising this question in the appropriate forum. if not, i 
would be grateful if you could re-direct me. (i recently switched from 
windows to mac OSX, so i'm very much a novice at this.)

i've been unable to correctly install IPE for use with TeXShop. when i click 
on the IPE icon after installation, it looks as though it's going to open, 
but then it closes and i get a 'program quits unexpectedly' message. as per 
the instructions for installing IPE, i first installed a (binary) version of 
trolltech's Qt3.3 (or higher) -- e.g., from this site: 
http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/ -- but i fear that i failed to successfully 
install that program as well. Qt is supposed to created one subfolder in the 
Applications folder and one local folder, but the Qt installation package 
only seems to create the Applications subfolder. i'm not sure what i'm doing 
wrong here, but i'd be very grateful for some help!
