[Ipe-discuss] editing splines

I tried to edit a spline after creating it.  I wanted to move some points 
about a bit.  I did ctrl-rightclick and a set of big purple control points 
appeared, some with circles round them.  But I couldn't move any of them - 
every time I tried, it added another control point.

I looked in the manual, no luck.  Can someone point me to doc on this topic?
