Onderwerp: [Arisaema-l] problems growing arisaema

Almost all of the seeds I recently received are growing.

I hope I can get them living long enough to flower. I’ve tried many, but Arisaema don’t grow well here even though I plant them in an area that I water in the summer. (We get no rain in the summer.)

One year I had a backhoe come in to dig out some rampant bamboo. The next spring, an arisaema came up and flowered where the backhoe had stood. This was near to, but not actually where the bamboo had grown. I checked my records, and the last time it had flowered was 12 years before. It then flowered for a couple of years but then stopped. Maybe I should rent a backhoe again.

Any suggestions as to how I can succeed? Keep them in pots maybe?

Diane
