Van Bourgondien, Michigan BC, Spring Hill, and I am sure others operate in this way: you order something "rare" and its sold out. You attempt to request a refund, and they give you credit. You order something else with this credit and you get something mis-ID'd and some free stuff and they consider your credit spent no matter the complaints. It is not worth the hassle and frustration of dead plants.

I forget which companies are all the same conglomerate, but they go through bankruptcy every few years it seems.

Well, I finally found griffithii at the Michigan Bulb Company.  It’s not listed under Arisaema nor could I find it just by browsing the site.  But if you search using ‘Jack Pulpit’, it turns up for $9.  This sale ends January 31.  As has been mentioned before, this is buyer beware.
