Yes the plants have been grown in pots and in the garden in wet part of nz and this form has done really well. They have not been dried out in winter just left in ground. Have done well for over 15 year's in garden. The plant was collected in a very remote part of India near the Burmese border. I've posted another photo for your comment. The importers had kept plants for many years to themselves before releasing them. They lived in a area climate wise is very simular to where I live but are much wetter especially in winter.I was wondering if its a habitat form that is more amenable to culture. Our summer day temperature are 20 to 25degrees Celsius on average and nights are 12-16 degrees Celsius on average. I will be trying to get seed and if successful Will send to society seedbank. Please tell us more…..outdoors during the winter?  In pots?  In the ground?   You’re a Kiwi?  Well, that explains it.  I consider my Kiwi friends to be the
 luckiest people in the world and most can make a dead stick grow.  Your temperatures sound similar to Atlanta, although we get a little colder (20 F) but the ground doesn’t freeze much below a few inches.  >From the little I know of griffithii, it grows in
 the Himalayas, so I imagine it has a cold, dry winter and probably doesn’t like hot summers.
