[Arisaema-l] Arisaema taiwanense question

Thanks Colin- my seed pod looks like that, except green. I will wait until
the berries turn red like most other arisaemas. Interesting descriptions of
arisaemas and some culture information on that website also.

Arisaema taiwanense does well for me here in the hot southeastern USA and I
have some smaller seedlings coming along from AEG seed exchange that I
germinated outside in the garden. I actually like it better than A.
consanguineum, the other popular one with the umbrella-like leaves and drip
tips, as it has a more attractive stem and spathe I think. Look forward to
being able to contribute some seed from it for 2014.

Hello again Charles,

Here is a site with a picture of ripe A. taiwanense fruit.

For the first time my Arisaema taiwanense has a gigantic seed pod but it is
still quite green and the berries are hard. When does that one ripen and do
the berries turn red? I will contribute most of those seeds to the seed
exchange.

My American ones, triphyllum and quinatum are turning red now and I am
harvesting seed.
