Humm..
My attempt at growing Black Jack never made it to the garden. Had it potted
up, let it ride over winter and was "going to transplant" but it never made
it. Rotted in the container. Not the fault of the plant, my neglect and too
wet a medium. Nice to see your photos, Jim of the foliage. May try it again
in a raised bed and this time not let it sit around over winter.

Here's a photo of A. triphyllum 'Black Jack' in my garden. As you can see,
The name refers to the foliage. The form is sold by Tony Avent of "Plant
Delights" nursery and was found by someone in Florida. It has been perfectly
hardy here in Delaware (zone 7a). It has not set seed but reproduces readily
by underground stolons.
