Any unusual selections or cultivars or ? of A. triphyllum folks here are growing?? How has 'Black Jack' performed in different parts of the country and is it 'seed and pollen sterile'?
I have many of the natural variations of triphyllum that most of you probably also grow. The pale green form seems to grow the largest. A very dark inner spathe form seems to be the smallest, especially in spathe size, though some femal\e plants get a decent size. The latter seems to multiply well. Of course there are many with various amounts of darkness in the spathe.
I had A. triphyllum 'stewardsonii' many years ago. It bloomed for a year or two but faded away under normal garden conditions. Someday I hope I have the opportunity to try it again in which case I will grow it in a large pot and keep it much wetter.
Here is my "Mrs. French Veined" type with leaf veining though I don't think this was actually a Mrs. French veined clone. Anything else unusual folks here are growing?
I have trouble getting myself to cull Arisaema seedlings so my front bed has a decent population of A. triphyllum along with some A amurense.
If it wasn't so common and easy triphyllum would be one of the most desired Arisaemas!
