Here in Zone 6 Rhode Island we had a warm but droughty winter. Many of the smaller cormsjust migrated right out of the powdery ground. Despite early warm temperatures this springmany things that should be emerging are slow to come up this year like the A. negishii I got from Barry. I have a large clump of urashima that's out, ternatipartium is leafed out and I have this one clone of serratum that's in bloom (it began emerging in early march!). Others are only just emerging: Arisaema triphyllum, other serratum clones, yamatense, sikokianum, engleri x sikokianum, kiushianum, amurense, ringens. No signs of my kishidae yet which is troublesome. A. heterophyllum, maximowiczi, tashiroi, & sazensoo usually emerge 1-2 weeks after the early risers here. Himalayans won't come into play till May. -Erick Adams

Arisaema negishii has been up and blooming for several weeks. It is always very early and not damaged by frost, very strange as my plants are from a place with little frost. They have thrived for many years. They always bloom and I have volunteer seedlings. Despite the very mild winter and early spring I don't see any other species up yet.
