Hello Everyone!

My name is Michael Guess. I was born and raised in California, but came t==
o 
Japan in 1984. 

For two decades now I've grown Arisaema thunbergi subsp. urashima, and a= =

bit more recently A. sikokianum, but after a serious reading of Dr. Gusma==
n's 
book last year, I realized that the archipelago has a lot more to offer.

One of the best things about Tokyo is getting out of it, and I've spent= =

many pleasant days bird-watching & botanizing in the hills & moun=
tains and on 
the coasts around the Kanto Plain. I will be able to post some pictures o==
f  
Arisaemas I've encountered, and hope to donate some wild-collected seed t==
o 
the next exchange.

You may have heard about how scarce/expensive land is in this country: it==
 
affects me in that I'm forced to garden on a plot the size of a large sho==
e-box. 
I would greatly appreciate any guidance anyone can offer on choice hardy= =

aroids that take up a minimum of space (and of course, seed would also be==
 
most welcome!)

Lurking in the Arisaema-L archives for the last year or so, I've been hig==
hly 
impressed at level of knowledge here - but even more so at everyone's=2=0
hospitality & patience. I hope you all will extend those to me too.
