Hi Roger,
Speciosum corms can be very large, especially in the giant form whichh =
is
sold as speciosum magnificum. The corm is more like a massive rhizome,
growing horizontically in the ground, dying at the and and growing at =
the
tip. To me it sounds much like speciosum, especially as you wrote that =
the
roots were active - dormancy in speciosum is (speaking from my =
experience)
not as strict as in many other species, meaning the corms are best left =
in
substrate which is a little moist, as they can desiccate if stored dry.=
So, lets wait for the leaf....
Cheers, Michael

Sorry Paul,
Plant received last week, dormant stage
although roots active, shoot not yet through.. Can you
wait 6 months, please? :)
I was just very surprised by the corm size & shape.
Regards,
Roger.
