A. dracontium is native here in southwest Wisconsin, although not =
common. A
mature plant (female) is needed along with younger male plants blooming =
at
the same time.
In my experience, the larger the bulb of this plant, the later it will
appear and bloom. Very young plants will start appearing in mid May =
while
the fully mature plants won=92t poke their noses out until late May or ==
early
June. I haven=92t paid attention to the size a plant is before it =
becomes
female. It took me a while to realize that continually sharing/trading =
the
medium sized plants was the reason I wasn=92t getting seed set! These ==
were
probably the male plants that were large enough to appear when the =
female
plants did.
I haven=92t sent seed to the exchange for awhile and hope to get back t=o =
doing
that next year. I also had a shipment confiscated & destroyed, after
several years of successful arrival and just before the permits were
required. Even if I choose not to get the permits and request seed, I =
can
still donate.
An unusual amount of snow again this year and I=92m already tired of =
winter!

I must agree with Michael. www.gardensnorth.com does sell the true seed. ==
My
plants from her seed flowered this past year, but no fruit. Hopefully =
next
year and I will be glad to send that seed in for seedex then.
