I have some plants which I originally purchased as A. serratum=2C but n=ow I=
'm thinking
I have a serratum x yamatense hybrid. I'd like opinions. Here's what data=I=
've collected so far:
I have 3 plants=2C two male & one female.
cataphylls pink mottled - all
Male 1 has a classic yamatense pseudostem with mottling in chestnut brown=/d=
ried blood & sand.
The other two are mottled a purple/olive green color.
Peduncle: mottled brown on male 1=2C plain green on the other two
Spathe tube: pale green with a white base - all.
Spathe limb: shorter than the tube on the female & male 2. Male1 the sam=e =
length as the tube.
Both males have purple/brown overtones on the outside=3B All three are =papi=
llate on the inside.
Spadix appendage: abruptly capitate like a crochet hook=2C pale green a=nd v=
ery thick=2C
6mm on the males & 9mm on the female.
Anthers: purple=2C sparse.
Pollen: appears cream.
I haven't peeked at the female much since I'm trying to keep the tube int=ac=
t till I pollinate it.
Thanks=2C
-erick
