Wellll..... it seems I've been lucky. The patch likes its current locatio=n in very loose fluffy humus in the middle of a perennial bed and not cro=wded by other plants.
I wrote that this is my 3rd attempt in over 12 (more?) years. Seems anyth=ing will grow through/over it and choke it, as will dense soil. They also=go early dormant for me so I keep the little plot bare the rest of the t=ime (most of the year).
Perhaps cultural methods for Cypripediums or Asarum or delicate Trilliums=may work better, or rock garden or alpine techniques.
But try, it may work easily for you - I'm not saying you have to build a =Shinto shrine and grow it on the ornately carved stone steps, along with =offerings! They are relatively inexpensive and you can always write Ellen=at SHP for advice.
