I finally got Pinellia cordata 'Yamazaki' to flourish into a small but we=ll behaved clump. Its semi exposed protected around the sides but with no=direct plant competition, and not too much or too little winter mulch. T=hird time's the charm. Got them all from Ellen Hornig of Seneca Hill Pere=nnials.

For me P. tripartita Atropurpurea clumps up slowly and seeds about gracef=ully. Always have a spot for a transplant plus a few gifts to other peopl=e.

'Polly Spout' the same but without seedlings.

P. pedatisecta I got from Kaichen Nursery as Arisaema tortuosum. Its kept=in check as 2 clumps through which I can frequently comb through and rem=ove ripening seed heads before they can lean, fall over, hit the ground 2=feet away, and shatter their seeds further in that direction. Amazingly =from when the inflorescence starts to fade to this point takes a mere 2 w=eeks or so. Makes a fine addition to the compost heap but tubers are cut =out and thrown into neighbors' yards.

P. ternata is now in its 3rd year starting to "travel" and become annoyin=g.
