quoting from Guy & Liliane's wonderful The Genus Arisaema, 2nd
edition, on page 43 of the Propagation chapter .... Exceptionally,
fertile seeds are produced apomictically when only a female
inflorescence is present.
I found this sentence to be very interesting to say the least. Is
this a behavior that is to be expected from all species of arisaema?
It seems there have been accounts of plants setting seed when the
owner mentioned that they only had one clone in their garden. Is it
to be assumed then that these female plants were reproducing
apomictically?
I am hoping there are others on this list that can provide further
infor. on this subject.
