I have not insinuated or proposed that there is a cold requirement for
seed germination. As a matter of fact, he only seed I have not been
able to germinate without such a treatment has been our local A
triphyllum which may actually need one.
What I referred to was the breaking of the dormancy of tubers which had
gone dormant after their first deason's growth after germination.
Since my first note, I have also got growth restarted on A tortuosum
tubers after 5 months cold storage. I have several other species in
the refrig at present, and keep looking for a start of growth
