Hi Adam,
There was a sudden shift in weather in 2000, possibly from the Gulf Strea=m moving a bit closer to the coast, or else just because. Since then, abo=ut
-25C has been the coldest we've had, usually each winter at some point, a=nd usually a few extended periods with lows in the -20 to -25C range. Not=really so bad except for frequent winter thaws and rains which some plan=ts accept and some don't.

Prior to 2000 we used to get about -32C as a winter minimum, for about 1 =night, with usually a week or so of -25 to -30C. Thaws and rains were les=s of an issue then. By a lucky (?) coincidence I hadn't been bitten by th=e Arisaema bug until after the weather shift.

By the way, the so-called Mount is only 200m above sea level...

Hello Leo. What is the coldest it gets/ has gotten where you are in Un=iacke? It sounds as if you might even average out as a bit warmer than t=he Chicago area. Adam in Glenview, IL USDA Zone 5a

Hi all,
This is probably not the last place where Arisaema show up each sprin=g, but in case any of you more southern growers are keeping track, A. tri=phyllum, A. sikokianum, and A. amurense are showing today probably thanks=in part to a warm rain (yes folks, 13C or 55F is a warm rain here at thi=s time of year). Actually the triphyllum first showed a week ago in one =of my 2 locations, but
