Is it common for tubers to sit out a growing season?
==================================================
My most notable example was a jacquemontii that remained dormant for
12 years after being overrun by bamboo and ferns. When I hired a
backhoe to remove the bamboo, the arisaema popped up and bloomed. It
had been so long since I had seen it that I had forgotten about it,
so had to check on an old garden map to find out what it was.
