I've never had success in the garden either, hence the pot method as a
last try. They are in a free draining mix and the bulbs are surround by
Turface. I've already been told that Turface probably holds too much
water so we'll see how they do as they are already growing and I don't
want to disturb them. From the few response, it seems they tolerate our
heat very well and so the issue is really a free draining mix.
