I need to further refresh myself on form pusillum. I saw a lot of these,==
with the uniformly dark spathe underside, in NY about two weeks ago. H==
owever, there were a couple of light spathe plants around. How genetical==
ly distinctive is ssp. pusillum? Does it readily cross with the other fo==
rms of triphyllum? I guess I will have to go consult Gusman's book tomor==
row, which is at my office.

If it is uniformly dark and unstriped on the underside of the spathe limb==
then it is Arisaema triphyllum ssp. pusillum which does bloom at about th==
e
same time as A. t. stewardsonii. The more common and larger A. trip[hyllu==
m
ssp triphyllum blooms and finishes just as the other two subspecies get =
started blooming.
I tried to post a picture of Arisaema triphyllum ssp. pusillum two days ==
ago
but I got the same type of error message as other people. I expect Eric i==
s
working on the problem.
