Well, I spent the big, big bucks for only one plant of Black Jack and =
I'm simply assuming that it has the genetic capability for Zone 5, =
because other forms of A. triphyllum go into Zone 2. I do this because =
I'm a risk taker, because the darker forms of a number of plants are =
hardier than the lighter forms, and because I want it badly. I will =
bend a knee toward Mother Nature and plant it closer to the house where =
it might get more heat from the foundation and radiation from the =
basement. But I anticipate moving it in only a few years.

WOW!!
My husband and I took a whirlwind trip to Iowa/Minnesota this past =
weekend and at one point, landed at Shady Oaks Nursery lab on our way to ==
the gardens of Hans Hansen. Because I expressed an interest in =
arisaemas, he showed me the process of tissue culturing these plants for ==
the trade.... fascinating.
First, in the test tube, then in the rooting medium and then in the =
growing houses. And while at the latter, I ran across A. 'Black Jack'. ==
WOW. This is a stunning plant. The leaves and the spathe are inky =
black.
The catalog suggests hardiness from Zone 6. I'm hoping someone from Z ==
5 will tell me they've been successful, although I don't mind =
experimenting myself.
