I can second Henry's experience with Van Bourgondien. I ordered one of =
their Arisaema griffithii.. It was a very ordinary consanguineum when =
it bloomed.
They are often incorrect in their designations of species. They =
advertised Amaryllis belladonna for years but showed a picture of =
Lycoris squamigera. I wrote them about three times about this, and =
finally got someone to believe me. They have dropped that picture as of ==
last year, but I haven't checked to see what they're doing this year. =
(Catalog came today). The crocosmia I got were infected with =
something I did not recognize. Lhycoris radiata they have offered =
have not survived for me while others from other parts of the U.S. =
(Texas, Mississippi) do fairly well. Also, gladioli were infected. I =
do not think that they grow much, but only act as brokers. Other bulbs =
I've ordered have not survived even mild winters in the Chicago =
area.,e.g., Spigelia
The Turkish dracunculus they offered lastyear looked very good when they ==
arrived but they did not survive the 2004-2005 winter which only had 2 =
days near zero F in my area. They were advertised as something like =
"perfectly hardhy" Am not sure any more. They consistently overestimate ==
hardiness of the bulbs they offer.

My experience with Van Bourgondien is not with /Arisaema/, but I have =
had bad luck ordering the unusual varieties from them.
I ordered the pink /Convallaria/ which is much more expensive than the ==
the white, but all of them grew into white-flowered plants.
When I ordered /Lilium martagon/ I got small dried up bulbs which =
behaved like scales in the garden. All of the /L. m. album/ were =
pink/purple when they finally bloomed years later.
I no longer order from them even though I find very enticing new =
things in their catalog.

Looks like Van Bourgondien (www.dutchbulbs.com) is offering Arisaema ==
griffithii, 1 for $17.99, 2 for $34.98, 3 for $50.97.
My question for them is, have the grown them through a full year =
successfully, including a full dormancy cycle, or are these imported =
directly from India? What can we expect of you? Eager Arisaema-L members ==
want to know.
