Yes the seeds were inspected on fruit remains and fungus etc. sent in Uni=versity Botanic Garden Envelopes including a return address. Maybe it wou=ld have helped if we had put a note about this inspection, but I don't th=ink so. Maybe they did not inspect the flat envelopes, but the ones with =many seed packages in it, I do not know.

For the Netherlands it is no problem to receive small quantities of seeds=, we have discussed this with the phyto authorities already some years ag=o. To get a phyto for a batch of seeds and send them over in one packet w=ould be an option, but I will discuss this with the phyto authorities onc=e again.

Up till now it has not been a real problem, althoug there were roumers fr=om the US all the time. We have sent seed to many other Botanic Gardens i=n the US and I did not get on complain about confiscation, but maybe that=is the difference (the receiver)?!

Best,
Eric

I didn't order any seed, but I have a question...

In the letter to the list below, Christopher mentions that the seed are =
coming from a botanical garden. Are these seeds actually being sent in =
envelopes with the garden's return address on them? Seems like that =
would be the first GIANT red flag for our friends at USDA - or where =
ever the seeds are being intercepted - screaming "here I am, destroy =
me!".
